Technology stocks propelled Nasdaq gains for the first time since the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. By midday, the Nasdaq gained 71.23, or 5 percent, to 1,494.42 and the Dow Jones industrial average was up 319.96, or 4 percent, to 8,555.77. Barron's said last week's sell-off was likely to be a good opportunity for investors.
