  • BTG and Coventer to Collaborate on MEMS
Dec 2001
WEST CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa., Dec. 18 -- BTG announced it is forming a strategic alliance with Coventor to develop microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) technology and intellectual property in in radio frequency, optics and biotechnology.

MEMS are integrated systems that combine optical, mechanical, electronic, thermal, magnetic or fluidic functions on a single chip. MEMS, also called micromachines, can be fabricated using machining techniques and integrated circuit fabrication methods.

"This alliance will begin a focused effort to aggregate MEMS-related intellectual property that will become catalysts for a broad range of new product innovations," said Mike Jamiolkowski, Coventor president and CEO. "Teaming with BTG, we will transform this exciting technology into products and business solutions for the communications and biotechnology sectors."
