MONTREAL, Dec. 19 -- The Canadian Advanced Technology Alliance (CATAAlliance) and its Mexican counterpart, the National Electronics, Computer and Telecommunications Industries Chamber (CANIETI), have adopted a global cooperation agreement to contribute to the development of their high-tech industries by exchanging services, joint projects, trade opportunities and human resources expertise. "Canada and Mexico have a lot in common", said Rogelio Garza Garza, executive director of CANIETI. "High-tech industries need to address the current issues posed by the Information Technologies downturn, and to adapt to the post 9-11 environment. That is why we think that joining forces with CATA will contribute significantly to the development of both of our national IT industries and markets."
