SANTA CLARA, Calif., Nov. 7 -- Applied Imaging Corp. has announced the formation of a clinical research imaging collaboration with the Department of Anatomic Pathology at The Cleveland Clinic Foundation. The Cleveland Clinic has purchased the company's Ariol automated image analysis system for use in its pathology research programs. Investigators have begun to use the Ariol system in their research programs to more precisely characterize gene and protein expression patterns in a variety of cancers. Scientists at The Cleveland Clinic will also evaluate new applications under development by Applied Imaging and provide input into the design of novel imaging applications for the detection of extremely low levels of gene amplification that may enhance the utility of other technologies already under development at the clinic.
