ATLANTA, Dec. 31 -- Digital Blue, the consumer division of Prime Entertainment Inc., of Atlanta, has been awarded a $100,000 grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF) to fund an Internet-based education initiative for middle-school students. Students will perform experiments using Digital Blue's QX3+ computer microscope and will post and analyze the digital images on a "virtual lab" Web site. Investigations will include regional water quality tracking, rock and mineral properties, plant growth and the physiology of flight in birds. About a dozen schools will participate in the US,...Read full articleRelated content from Photonics MediaArticlesUniversity of Rochester Receives $18M for New Laser FacilityThe University of Rochester has received nearly $18 million from the National Science Foundation (NSF) to design and prototype key technologies for EP-OPAL, a new facility dedicated to the study of...Photonics.com 9/26/2023Waters Corp. to Acquire Wyatt Technology: Week in Brief: 02/17/23Waters Corp. entered into an agreement to acquire Wyatt Technology, a developer of light-scattering and field-flow fractionation technology, for $1.36 billion in cash.
