Replicated toroidal mirrors are available from Opco Laboratory Inc. for use in optical bench designs, including Czerny-Turner-designed monochromators. The company says that replicated toroidal mirrors correct astigmatism and increase energy throughput, particularly where array detection is employed, giving them an advantage over spherical concave mirrors, and that they cost less than the conventional types and have greater repeatability in surface accuracy, surface quality and radii.
