Photonics Spectra
Aug 2005
A redesigned Web site showcases Armstrong Optical Ltd.’s new items, such as the MobIR M4 handheld thermal/visible imaging systems with full thermographic capability; the Ross multichannel, self-calibrating streak camera; and a wide range of high-precision motion systems for linear, rotational and combination movements. The company provides optical components and optomechanical assemblies for all wavebands as well as systems to measure parameters such as shape, form, finish, distance and vibration. A pair of ISO resolution and contrast charts will be given as a prize to those who answer a question on the site, according to the company.

streak camera
A high-speed cine camera used to record, on a continuously moving film, very brief events such as a flash of light. The image is recorded as a continuous image, not as a series of individual frames.
