Court Sides with Corning in Patent Infringement Case

CORNING, N.Y., Nov. 18 -- Corning Inc. announced that the US District Court for the District of Delaware has ruled that SRU Biosystems of Woburn, Mass., infringed on a patent exclusively licensed to Corning for optical biosensors that enable label-independent detection of chemical, biochemical and biological substances in a sample. The court ruled that the patent is valid, and also found that SRU induced patent infringement through its testing activities with a potential customer.
