A cleanable and durable silver mirror coating design has been launched by CVI Laser LLC. The silver coating provides a broad bandwidth, from the visible to the near-IR, with a nearly constant reflectivity of greater than 95% from 600 nm to 10 µm. The company says that it is less sensitive to variations in incident angle. polarization and wavelength than dielectric coatings. The surface of the mirror can withstand harsh conditions and can be cleaned in the field with acetone via the drag-and-drop method. The standard substrate material is BK 7 glass, and silicon substrates also are an option. Thickness tolerance is ±0.25 mm.
