ASI/Silica to Supply Vapor Deposition Units

ASI/Silica Machinery LLC of North Hills, Calif., has received a multimillion-dollar order for 16 outside vapor deposition systems. The sale includes dual-spindle upgrades to existing cladding and core deposition systems, and sinter systems and soaking ovens. The company provides core and cladding soot deposition process technology to optical fiber manufacturers. The customer, an undisclosed company in Asia, will use the machines to expand its single-mode optical fiber preform production capacity.Read full article
