Cognex to Acquire AssistWare

Cognex Corp. of Natick, Mass., has announced its plans to acquire AssistWare Technologies Inc. of Gibsonia, Pa. The acquired company was the developer of the Lane Departure Warning system, which alerts drivers to excessive drifting, with the aim of reducing traffic accidents caused by drowsiness. The Pennsylvania company will integrate its video and machine vision technology into trucking fleets for additional testing. The companies plan to continue to develop technologies for use in vehicles.Read full article
