Ingo Gretschel has been appointed managing director of Qioptiq GmbH, as of Aug. 1. Formerly head of optoelectronic sales at Docter Optics, Gretschel has many years of experience in optomechanical design and the manufacture of products and components for military and commercial applications, the company said. Qioptiq, one of seven companies within the Qioptiq Group (formerly Thales High Tech Optics Group) manufactures high-quality microsystems for medical, telecommunications, sensor and optical systems technologies and is based in Asslar, Germany.
