NanoSensors Signs License Agreement With Pohang University

Santa Clara, Calif.-based nanotechnology development company NanoSensors Inc., a maker of instruments and sensors to detect explosives, chemical and biological agents, announced that it has signed a technology license agreement with Korea's Pohang University of Science and Technology. The agreement gives Nanosensors exclusive rights to Korean patent-pending methods for increasing sensor device sensitivity using carbon nanotubes, as well as a planned patent application for fabricating single nanowire devices. NanoSensors now has the exclusive worldwide right to advanced methods for using carbon nanotube devices as field-effect transistors for detection and allows the company to commercialize the technology for homeland security and Environmental Protection Agency applications. Nanosensors said it believes that the technology can be used to detect a wide variety of selected agents.
