Osram Opto Semiconductors Appoints New CFO

Osram Opto Semiconductors Inc. of San Jose, Calif., a provider of lighting, sensor and visualization Ringsgwandl-Wittgen.jpgproducts based on semiconductor technology, yesterday announced that on Jan. 1, Josef Ringsgwandl will become CFO, replacing Robert Wittgen on the Osram Opto Managing Board in Regensburg, Germany. Ringsgwandl previously headed the controlling department for the Ballasts and Luminaires Div. of Osram Munich, a position he has held since 1997. Ringsgwandl began his career in 1975 in the Lighting Div. at Siemens in Traunreut, Germany. Osram Opto said Wittgen is moving to parent company Osram, where he will take on the role of global chief information officer (CIO) for the lighting manufacturer. He has been responsible for finances at Osram Opto Semiconductors since 1999. As CIO, he will have global responsibility for information technology within the Osram group.
