New CEO Named for Elbit Systems of America

International defense electronics company Elbit Systems Ltd. of Haifa, Israel, announced that Raanan I. Horowitz has been named president and CEO of its US subsidiary, Elbit Systems of America (ESA) LLC, effective Oct. 15. Horowitz replaces Joseph A. Parini, chairman of the ESA board of directors, who served as ESA's interim president and CEO after the death of President and CEO Robert T. Elrod in August. Horowitz joined the Elbit Group in 1989, and since 1991 has held senior positions in its US companies. In 2001, he was named executive vice president and general manager of EFW Inc., an ESA company. Before that, Horowitz served in a number of senior management positions in EFW, including executive vice president and COO, vice president of operations, and vice president of the Ground Systems business unit. ESA is a provider of high-performance defense, homeland security and commercial aviation products and systems and is based in Fort Worth, Texas.
