The US Army Research Laboratory of Adelphi, Md., has awarded high-power diode laser manufacturer Alfalight Inc. of Madison, Wis., a $1.2 million contract for the 12-month program titled “High Brightness Diode Sources.” Under the contract, the company will create more cost-effective and robust laser diode modules with higher brightness and reliability than current diode laser technology can provide.
