The PMi compact laser module has been introduced by
Power Technology Inc. It features a precision current source that produces from 50 to 500 mA. The industrial-grade device is suitable for use in standard and rugged OEM environments. Measuring 0.75 in diameter by 3.2 mm long, it operates from a 3.3- to 9-VDC supply over a temperature range of 10 to 30 °C. It offers current monitoring within 1% accuracy and features an internal temperature shutoff. Applications include positioning, alignment and bar-code reading.
