Affymetrix Inc. of Santa Clara, Calif., a producer of microarray technology for genetic research, has signed an agreement with Avesthagen Ltd. of Bangalore, India, a biotechnology company. The latter business will employ the California-based company’s microarray technology for the Avestagenome Project, a comprehensive genetic study of more than 60,000 Parsi individuals, to create a genetic, geologic and medical database of that population.
