Biofusion plc of Sheffield and Cardiff University of Wales, both in the UK, have created a spin-off company, Demasq Ltd., also based in Cardiff, to develop a range of bone and soft-tissue imaging products. The new company’s first product, the Degenerative Knee Indicator designed to provide the soft-tissue detail of an MRI combined with the bone detail of an x-ray, is expected to be available in 2009.
