HRDT Technology patent granted
Syntec Optics of Pavilion, N.Y., an independent manufacturer of custom plastic optics, has received a US patent for its high-refraction diamond turning (HRDT) technology. Mostly used for defense-related projects, the technology now is suitable for markets including datacom, which requires asymmetric, low-cost optics with high wave sensitivity and strong heat resistance.
