Universal Display Loses $19M

EWING, N.J., March 17, 2009 -- Phosphorescent organic LED (PHOLED) maker Universal Display Corp. last week reported a net loss for 2008 of $19.1 million, or 53 cents a share, an increase of 16.5 percent over 2007’s $16 million loss. Revenue for 2008 was $11 million, down slightly from 2007’s $11.3 million total. The company said commercial revenue continues to steadily increase as customers transition from developing the OLEDs to selling actual products.
