BELFAST, Northern Ireland, April 6, 2009 – Andor Technology plc has launched the Clara low-light imaging interline CCD camera. Built around the 1.3-megapixel ICX285 sensor from Sony, it is engineered to deliver high sensitivity, high resolution and good dynamic range performance.  Clara_CCD.jpg

The proprietary UltraVac vacuum process and attention to thermal management have resulted in deep air cooling to -45 °C for elimination of dark current. The camera also produces low read noise of 3e- rms at 1 MHz. Dynamic events can be followed with good quantitative stability via low-noise 10- or 20-MHz readout modes, with the data channeled through a USB 2.0 interface.

The company’s iCam technology and comprehensive input/output functionality enable high acquisition efficiency via live-cell microscopy software, and an accurate hardware- generated time stamp ensures temporal precision. The compact, robust design and accessible software development kit facilitate OEM integration.
