AFP Imaging Corp. of Elmsford, N.Y., has received 510(k) clearance from the FDA to market its NewTom VG cone beam computed tomography scanner. Able to provide 3-D radiographic images of the dentomaxillofacial complex, the device has applications including orthodontia, oral surgery and maxillofacial surgery. The unit also offers flexible seating options, allowing the patient to stand or sit while being scanned.
