Intertech.jpgIntertechPira has released a technology study titled “Advances in Nanophotonics,” which provides an overview of the field, including challenges and emerging trends across a wide range of industries. It discusses nanophotonics applications, among them, biosensors, quantum computing, data storage, memory devices and flat panel displays. Developments in related materials and devices are addressed, including LEDs, lasers, biomaterials, nanocrystals, surface plasmon, nanophosphors, near-field optics, photonic crystals (2- and 3-D), as well as quantum dots, wells and wires. A section is devoted to manufacturing techniques such as extrusion, deposition, micromachining, microlithography, stacking, self-assembly and holographic lithography. quantum dots
Also known as QDs. Nanocrystals of semiconductor materials that fluoresce when excited by external light sources, primarily in narrow visible and near-infrared regions; they are commonly used as alternatives to organic dyes.
