Lightools Research of Encinitas, Calif., has received a US patent for its fluorescent step wedge for illumination of fluorescence imaging and automatic exposure. A fluorescent reference standard for whole-animal imaging, the tool allows researchers to set the interimage dynamic range and avoid saturated and underexposed pixels. The rapid image-to-image comparison capability increases consistency.
