Coherent.jpgThe compact Chameleon OPO (optical parametric oscillator) from Coherent Inc. is an alignment-free, fully automated and computer-controlled device that is suitable for use in multiphoton excitation microscopy. Featuring a wavelength range from 680 to 1200 nm, it offers an optimal penetration depth and minimal sample damage for excitation wavelengths >1 μm. The system’s multimodality enables it to function using alternative imaging methods, including coherent anti-Stokes Raman and stimulated Raman scattering, as well as second- and third-harmonic generation. It can simultaneously excite different fluorophores, including green and red fluorescent proteins.
