Iridex Corp. of Mountain View, Calif., will acquire Laserscope of San Jose, Calif., the laser aesthetics business of American Medical Systems Holdings Inc. of Minnetonka, Minn., as part of a $28 million agreement. Specifically, the Mountain View-based company will obtain rights to patents and patent licenses from the San Jose developer of light-based systems for dermatological applications.
