Ocean Optics Forms OEM Team
To better serve its growing global OEM business, Dunedin, Fla.-based miniature spectrometer maker Ocean Optics announced last week that it has formed a dedicated OEM engineering group. The group, which includes PhD-level optical and biochemistry engineers, physicists, software developers, and electrical and mechanical engineers, will provide integration support to optimize and fast-track the commercialization efforts of environmental technology OEMs. The group’s services are available to all OEMs, whether they contract directly with Ocean Optics or purchase through local distribution channels, the company said.
- Pertaining to optics and the phenomena of light.
- The technology of generating and harnessing light and other forms of radiant energy whose quantum unit is the photon. The science includes light emission, transmission, deflection, amplification and detection by optical components and instruments, lasers and other light sources, fiber optics, electro-optical instrumentation, related hardware and electronics, and sophisticated systems. The range of applications of photonics extends from energy generation to detection to communications and...
- A kind of spectrograph in which some form of detector, other than a photographic film, is used to measure the distribution of radiation in a particular wavelength region.
