Carlson to Lead QD Vision

WATERTOWN, Mass., July 2, 2010 — QD Vision, a maker of quantum dot products for solid-state lighting and display applications, announced that Jason Carlson has been hired as its new president and CEO. Carlson replaces Dan Button, who has been president and CEO since 2007 and built the team that commercialized QD Vision's techology, launching its first Quantum Light™ product for solid-state lighting applications. Carlson joins QD Vision from Emo Labs, a Waltham, Mass.-based company developing invisible loudspeaker systems, where he has served as president and CEO since 2006.     Electromagnetic radiation detectable by the eye, ranging in wavelength from about 400 to 750 nm. In photonic applications light can be considered to cover the nonvisible portion of the spectrum which includes the ultraviolet and the infrared.
    nano
    An SI prefix meaning one billionth (10-9). Nano can also be used to indicate the study of atoms, molecules and other structures and particles on the nanometer scale. Nano-optics (also referred to as nanophotonics), for example, is the study of how light and light-matter interactions behave on the nanometer scale. See nanophotonics.
