Max Glaskin

Optical sensors that detect biochemical reactions at the molecular level could be used to spot drug abuse by athletes within minutes. The technology promises to be a great improvement over traditional chemical analysis of blood or urine samples that can take several hours to complete. In addition to the time savings, the new biosensor designs from Labsystems Affinity Sensors could be three times more sensitive than those that are available now. The company expects to complete the sensors soon. Labsystems' current biosensors are based on a resonant mirror design, in which a 670-nm...Read full article
