Edmund Optics Opens Office in Taiwan
SINGAPORE, Dec. 3, 2010 — Optical components provider Edmund Optics announced its continued expansion across Asia with the opening of an office in Taichung City and the appointment of Johnson Chang to lead its Taiwan sales operations.
In his new role, Chang will spearhead further development of the company’s presence in Taiwan. He will strengthen alliances with existing customers, as well as nurture and develop new relationships in the area.
He has worked for more than 12 years in precision optics at one of Taiwan’s most established lens manufacturing businesses, the company said. Chang will bring to the company exceptional technical knowledge and practical know-how to interface with clients on their individual product development needs. In addition, he will work directly with R&D teams from initial product feasibility studies, to eventual production and final integration.
“This is an exciting time for us as we continue to see rapid growth in the demand for our products across the region, especially in Taiwan,” said Vincent Thong, director for Asia sales at Edmund Optics. “Chang’s knowledge and experience in vision integration systems and imaging lenses adds tremendous strength to our Asian team.”
To prepare and support the new office, the company recently launched a new website, www.edmundoptics.com.tw, as well as produced a tailored edition of its catalogue, which contains over 22,700 off-the-shelf optical components for the Taiwan market. It also plans to hold a series of ‘Vision Seminars’ in Taipei in the summer of 2011.
