  • Imagine Optic Opens New Offices in Shanghai
Feb 2011
SAN FRANCISCO & ORSAY, France, Feb. 4, 2011 — Imagine Optic announced it has opened new offices in the Pythagore optics-photonics cluster in Shanghai.

The offices, which host other high-technology companies, were opened at the end of November 2010. They are located in the Yangpu District, which is situated near 12 Chinese universities that comprise 22 major laboratories, 100 research institutes, 50 members of the Chinese Scientific Academy and over 6000 professors.

The offices show the company’s commitment to China’s growing economy.

“We’re looking forward to meeting new customers and helping to develop breakthrough applications, most notably in biological imaging and high-power lasers, that use our high-precision wavefront analysis and adaptive optics products,” CEO Samuel Bucourt said.

Imagine Optic manufactures high-performance Shack-Hartmann wavefront metrology and adaptive optics solutions.

adaptive optics
Optical components or assemblies whose performance is monitored and controlled so as to compensate for aberrations, static or dynamic perturbations such as thermal, mechanical and acoustical disturbances, or to adapt to changing conditions, needs or missions. The most familiar example is the "rubber mirror,'' whose surface shape, and thus reflective qualities, can be controlled by electromechanical means. See also active optics; phase conjugation.
