Nanotechnology investment company Nanostart
AG of Frankfurt, Germany, has announced its investment in Microlight Sensors Pte
Ltd. of Singapore, an integrated optical sensors and scanning systems developer.
The latter company’s current product line makes it possible to capture extremely
low intensity light and radiation near the IR- and visible-wavelength ranges. The
investment will be directed toward the company’s new product developments
as well as toward financing the expansion of its business in Asia.
- Electromagnetic radiation detectable by the eye, ranging in wavelength from about 400 to 750 nm. In photonic applications light can be considered to cover the nonvisible portion of the spectrum which includes the ultraviolet and the infrared.
- The use of atoms, molecules and molecular-scale structures to enhance existing technology and develop new materials and devices. The goal of this technology is to manipulate atomic and molecular particles to create devices that are thousands of times smaller and faster than those of the current microtechnologies.
- The emission and/or propagation of energy through space or through a medium in the form of either waves or corpuscular emission.
