Imagine Optic of Orsay, France, has acquired office space in the Pythagore optics-photonics cluster in Shanghai, China. The cluster, which hosts other high-technology companies, is in the Yangpu District, near 12 Chinese universities that comprise 22 major laboratories, 100 research institutes, 50 members of the Chinese Scientific Academy and more than 6000 professors. The company aims to attract new customers and to help develop breakthrough applications, especially in biological imaging and high-power lasers, for its high-precision wavefront analysis and adaptive optics products. It manufactures high-performance Shack-Hartmann wavefront metrology and adaptive optics solutions.

Optical components or assemblies whose performance is monitored and controlled so as to compensate for aberrations, static or dynamic perturbations such as thermal, mechanical and acoustical disturbances, or to adapt to changing conditions, needs or missions.
