!%Li-Cor Biosciences%! of Lincoln, Neb., is collaborating with MitoSciences of Eugene, Ore., to design specific assays for disease and metabolic pathways research. The latter company recently released In-Cell Elisa (ICE) IR assays that offer a high-throughput, reproducible and quantitative method to determine protein levels in cultured cells. The assays can be imaged on a Li-Cor Odyssey infrared imaging system. Li-Cor manufactures near-infrared imaging platforms, analysis software and IRDye infrared dye reagents for quantitative Western blotting, small-animal imaging and DNA fragment analysis. MitoSciences develops monoclonal antibodies and immunoassays for use in understanding mitochondrial function and metabolism.
