Opel Solar Becomes Opel Technologies

SHELTON, Conn., and TORONTO, Sept. 1, 2011 — High concentration photovoltaic solar panel manufacturer Opel Solar International Inc. recently filed Articles of Amendments under the Business Corporation Act to change its name to Opel Technologies Inc.

The change was made to reflect the two distinct segments of the company’s businesses and to avoid confusion caused by the former name’s reflecting only the solar business component, the company explained.

The company designs, manufactures and markets photovoltaic panels and dual- and single-axis trackers for related CPV and PV systems for energy applications. It also designs III-V semiconductor devices for military, industrial and commercial applications through Odis Inc., a US company.

The change will not consolidate capital, and no exchange of share is required, the company said.

Opel also said it is in the process of changing the name of its subsidiary, Opel Inc., to Opel Solar Inc.
