Visualization Sciences Group (VSG), with offices in the US and France, and Xradia Inc. of Pleasanton, Calif., have signed an original equipment manufacturer partnership agreement in which Xradia will offer VSG’s Avizo Fire software for 3-D visualization and analysis used in conjunction with its 3-D x-ray imaging solutions. The software enables fast analysis and modeling of Xradia’s 3-D imaging solutions for CT at submicron and nanometer resolution. It uses volume rendering, segmentation, 3-D reconstruction and quantification tools, enabling researchers to perform exploration, visualization, analysis and measurement of their results. It is suitable for engineering, industrial and research applications.

An instrument consisting essentially of a tube 160 mm long, with an objective lens at the distant end and an eyepiece at the near end. The objective forms a real aerial image of the object in the focal plane of the eyepiece where it is observed by the eye. The overall magnifying power is equal to the linear magnification of the objective multiplied by the magnifying power of the eyepiece. The eyepiece can be replaced by a film to photograph the primary image, or a positive or negative relay...
