BARRINGTON, N.J., Nov. 17, 2011 — Edmund Optics has introduced mid-wavelength infrared (MWIR) and long-wavelength infrared (LWIR) wave plates.

When compared with multiple-order wave plates, these zero-order types provide increased bandwidth and lower sensitivity to temperature change. Suited for a wide variety of infrared applications, the wave plates are available with λ/4 or λ/2 retardance over a range of wavelengths from 3 to 9 μm. They offer efficient retardation over a broad spectral range.
Each MWIR and LWIR wave plate is antireflection-coated and has been mounted for ease of alignment and simplified system integration.
They are in stock and available for immediate delivery.
