Photonic integrated circuit manufacturer NeoPhotonics Corp. announced it is doubling its capacity for producing narrow-linewidth tunable lasers. Offered in an OIF MSA standard ITLA form factor, these instruments feature the low noise and narrow linewidths required for 40- and 100-Gb/s coherent applications. The products are optimized for narrow linewidth with up to 35-mW launch power in the C band and 20 mW in the L band. This is enabled by NeoPhotonics’ phase-shifted distributed feedback laser chip and proprietary packaging technology, while the ITLA assembly also includes an integrated wavelength locker and industry-standard electrical and firmware interfaces. The tunable lasers have been available to customers since April 2010. For more information, visit: www.neophotonics.com
