SETi to Expand UV LED Production

Sensor Electronic Technology Inc. (SETi) of Columbia, S.C., will expand its R&D efforts and make the transition to becoming a high-volume manufacturer of ultraviolet LEDs shorter than 365 nm. SETi initially will scale to supply quantities of more than 100 million LEDs per year. Currently under way, the first phase of the expansion involves retrofitting an existing facility to 20,000 sq ft and converting it to an R&D center. The company recently closed on a property where it will focus its high-volume manufacturing lines.
