Medical device manufacturer UE LifeSciences Inc. of Philadelphia received market clearance from the FDA for its NoTouch BreastScan device. The contact-free breast-imaging tool was cleared by the FDA specifically for adjunctive diagnostic screening for breast cancer. The imaging system incorporates patent-pending dual-infrared detector design. The company says the tool dynamically analyzes temperature pixels from various infrared frames to create a real-time objective report for the physician. UE plans to offer NoTouch BreastScan services to clinics in the US beginning in the New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania regions.
