To expand its European presence, fiber optic cable manufacturer AFL has partnered with Netherlands-based Systicom Solutions to distribute its products. “By partnering with Systicom Solutions, AFL is able to expand our presence into additional European countries and provide fiber optic solutions to enhance communications,” said Steve Maederer, commercial director for AFL. AFL’s fiber optic cable products include the SkyWrap, all-dielectric self-supporting cable (ADSS) and optical ground wires manufactured in its Swindon facility. In 2010, AFL opened a new fiber optic facility to support the European region with customized optical fiber interconnect cables, and in 2011, it acquired TCC Group to provide communications services to the European market.
