FREIBURG, Germany, July 15, 2012 — Z-Laser Optoelektronik GmbH has announced the ZQ1 laser, with beam quality of M2 <1.2, homogeneity of ±15% and boresight accuracy of 3mrad.

A 1-W 808-nm single-mode laser diode provides ultrafine projections (line and point diffractive optics, and optics) while producing power of >300 W/mm2 and focus at 300 mm. Even with image processing applications with high ambient light influence, high measurement resolutions are possible (170 μm full width half-maximum in laser line width from a 1300-mm working distance.

Applications include inspection of glowing steel, road surfaces, rails and overhead wires. Intelligent monitoring capabilities and a built-in thermoelectric cooler produce high stability in terms of power (≤3%), wavelength and lifetime.

The laser model Z1000Q1-808 is equipped with various line and spot optics as well as a selection of diffractive optics. The laser is controlled via an RS-232 interface and provides transistor-transistor logic modulation up to 10 kHz.

Features include a compact all-in-one housing with integrated optics, electronics and active temperature control; protection class IP69 upon request; and a 5- to 24-VDC supply voltage.
