EDISON, N.J., Oct. 15, 2012 — The LabRAM HR Evolution from Horiba Scientific is a research Raman spectrometer that offers a fully automated, extended-wavelength-range capability. It has an achromatic optical design with a high focal length. The high-resolution device operates from 200 to 2000 nm, with access to frequencies as low as 10 cm−1, providing high-content spectroscopic information for chemical and structural identification as well as an accurate spatial resolution on a submicron scale.

It is suited to both micro and macro measurements, and offers 2- and 3-D advanced confocal imaging capabilities. The true confocal microscope enables fast acquisition and analysis of detailed images. Dual-path optics offer fast, simple switching between the UV and VIS/NIR regions. No adjustment or alignment is required.

The company has expanded its options and accessories to include transmission Raman, easy adaption to most major scanning probe and atomic force microscope suppliers, and extension of software features to include expanded chemometrics, imaging and fluorescence removal options.

The spectrometer uses the proprietary LabSpec 6 spectroscopy suite, which provides instrument control and data processing, and assures fast and reliable results. It opens up a full range of experiment protocols, from basic spectrum acquisition to hyperspectral confocal imaging.
