PITTSFORD, N.Y., Oct. 25, 2012 — Saelig Co. Inc. has announced the MV600UM2 USB, a color digital inspection microscope with magnification up to 600×. It features an integrated 2-megapixel digital/video camera and PC functions for measurement and image transfer.

The instrument is compact and portable and is used for examination of surfaces such as metal finishes and surface treatments. The high magnification, based on a 17-in. display, means that the viewing area and the depth of field are very small, making it suitable for examining fine details, for sharing the high-quality images and for posting detailed product images on websites.
It captures magnified images and video for display on a PC using a USB 2.0 connection. It has a white LED illumination ring for viewing circuit boards, tiny components and markings; for examining traces and solder joints on printed circuit boards; and for record-taking, inspection and quality control.
Plug-and-play operation with the included software allows objects to be magnified using the full-color 2-megapixel sensor on any Windows PC. Moving images can be displayed at 30 fps in VGA resolution. The software allows snapshots, video recording, time-lapsed images and calibrated measurements.
The package includes the microscope, a stand, two transparent covers, a calibration ruler and Miview software (Windows XP, Vista, 7) with measuring and calibration functions.
