RMI Forms Infrared Unit

LAFAYETTE, Colo., Nov. 9, 2012 — Rocky Mountain Instrument has formed a unit, RMI Infrared LLC, to manufacture and distribute high-grade zinc selenide (ZnSe) material and finished optics, the company said this week. RMI Infrared offers several fabrication options for its chemical vapor deposition-grown ZnSe, the company said, such as sufficient material to yield, core drilled blanks, edged blanks and polished and ready-to-be-coated blanks. Lenses and coatings are optimized for 10.6 µm. The company said it can also supply finished custom CO2 laser optics to end users. Both businesses are based in Lafayette....Read full article
