Flir Awarded $42M from Navy for Handheld IR Imagers

BILLERICA, Mass., June 20, 2013 — Flir Systems has received a $42.7 million contract to provide the US Navy with miniaturized IR systems integrated with laser rangefinders. The contract for the handheld imager-miniaturized long range (HHI-Mini LR) systems will run for five years, with funding of $950,000 obligated initially. Flir was selected out of four offers received by the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Div., of Crane, Ind.
