MARLBOROUGH, Conn., Aug. 16, 2013 — Schneider Electric Motion’s (SEM) Lexium MDrive (LMD) integrated motor products are now available with Ethernet and CANopen communication protocols, providing tools for industrial automation networking systems.
“Globally, Ethernet commands a leading market share in industrial automation, with CANopen another well-established communication protocol,” said SEM Vice President of Sales and Marketing Paul Kling. “Both fieldbuses feature standards that ensure consistency and ease of implementation for all vendors and products.”
LMD products with an internal encoder include hMTechnology, closing the feedback loop and eliminating many negatives traditionally associated with stepper systems while offering a solution for a range of servo motor applications. A variable torque control feature is also available, reducing heat output.
LMD products are currently available in two motor sizes, NEMA 23 and 24, with operating power range of 12 up to 70 VDC. An intuitive user software suite is provided.
