Bruker Corp. of Billerica, Mass., has named Thomas Bachmann as president of its BioSpin Group, which operates the Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy and Preclinical Imaging divisions. Bachmann, who has a background in life sciences and management, previously served as CEO of Tecan Group in Switzerland.

Ron Lindsay is the new fiber optics product business manager at Berk-Tek, a Pennsylvania manufacturer of network copper and fiber optic cable products. He most recently was director of engineering and quality assurance for Sumitomo Electric Device Innovations USA. Lindsay replaces Mike Connaughton, who has accepted a position as manager of Berk-Tek’s Data Center segment.

Optical filters maker Semrock Inc. of Rochester, N.Y., has hired James Harp as the new business development strategic account manager. He will focus on Semrock’s volume optics business opportunities. Harp previously held senior sales leadership positions with Perkin Elmer.

LaserStar Technologies Corp. of Riverside, R.I., has appointed Sam Bhambhani as sales director. He has more than 16 years’ experience in worldwide business development of laser technology and other industrial products. LaserStar manufactures laser welding and laser marking sources and integrated systems.
