Total sales have nearly doubled in the last five years for 19 leading companies in the laser and electro-optics industry, according to a report compiled by the Laser and Electro-Optics Manufacturers' Association (LEOMA). In 1992, sales for the 19 companies were just under $600,000. In 1996, those same companies posted sales of close to $1.2 million. While sales have grown, the survey shows that overhead spending has decreased steadily during the same period.
